The Department of Anatomy is
one of the basic science departments at the Ponce School of Medicine
and Health Sciences. Our department offers outstanding training and
research opportunities in the anatomical sciences for medical
students and graduate students. Our department and faculty has been
recognized by first year medical students as the best basic science
department for years 1998, 1999, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011.
Four faculty members hold primary appointments in the department and
another five hold joint or adjunct appointments.
Our goals are to:

educational experience for medical and graduate students.

training environmental for graduate students.

prominent research program.
The department has outstanding
facilities for educational and research. The quality of the faculty
and department resources provides an ideal environment for medical
and research training. Particular attention is paid to the
professional development of our graduates to prepare them for
careers in teaching, research or industry. Graduates of the program
have continued their education in medical and graduate or secured
position in industry.
