Current Projects

  • Prematurity in Puerto Rico, Cesarean Section rates in Puerto Rico.
     

  • Induction of Labor with the use of Misoprostol.
     

  • In collaboration with OB-GYN Department of Saint Luke’s Hospital there is an ongoing research on the prevalence of Helicobacter Pilory in pregnant patient with Hypermesis Gravidarium, Endometriosis, and Human Papilloma Virus. Group Beta hemolytic hemolytic streptococo prevalence in our obstetrical population.
     

  • The obstetrics and gynecology department is collaborating with Dr. Idaliz Flores, Associated Professor of the Microbiology Department in a study to evaluate Genetic/Familiar Tendencies in Endometriosis of Puerto Rican women.
     

  • Research studies in the prevalence and sero-typing of the Human Papilloma virus in Puerto Rico in collaboration with Dr. Yamamura from the Aids and Reference Lab.
     

  • Clinical Trial for the treatment of Vaginosis and Candidiasis.
     

  • Research studies in Molecular Epidemiology Studies on the Role of DNA Repair in Breast Cancer with Dr. Jaime Matta, Associate Professor of the Pharmacology Department.
     

  • Correlations of Ovarian size with Endometrial Cancer in Post-Menopausal Women in Saint Luke’s Hospital in collaboration with Dr. Gutiérrez and Dr. Jimmy Rios.
