About the
Program

The Child and Adolescent
Psychiatry Fellowship was created in 2006 in response to the need
for these professionals in the Island. The two-year program has been
fully accredited by the ACGME since its creation and follows all
guidelines required by the RRC. |

Mission
|
|
The primary Mission for the
Ponce School of Medicine (PSM) Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Training Program will be to train competent, compassionate
physicians. The Program will follow the guidelines required by the
RRC for Psychiatry in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, as outlined
by the ACGME. These are provided to all staff and residents upon
arrival to the orientation period. |

Vision
|
|
The Ponce School of Medicine
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency faculty will teach
residents the latest advances in the field. Medical knowledge is to
be integrated with research in order to result in the best medical
care available to the population we serve. Graduates are expected to
become leaders in the field, as well as true child advocates. |
