Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency(Fellowship) Program

About the Program

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship was created in 2006 in response to the need for these professionals in the Island. The two-year program has been fully accredited by the ACGME since its creation and follows all guidelines required by the RRC.

Mission

The primary Mission for the Ponce School of Medicine (PSM) Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Training Program will be to train competent, compassionate physicians. The Program will follow the guidelines required by the RRC for Psychiatry in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, as outlined by the ACGME. These are provided to all staff and residents upon arrival to the orientation period.

Vision

The Ponce School of Medicine Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency faculty will teach residents the latest advances in the field. Medical knowledge is to be integrated with research in order to result in the best medical care available to the population we serve. Graduates are expected to become leaders in the field, as well as true child advocates.
