Our 1st Annual Scientific Conference has been a great
success. This endeavor
has been such a great accomplishment due to the effort of many.
Among these, the organizational role of the Planning
Committee members, excellent skills and team work from collaborating
staff, the economic incentives from our sponsors, and principally,
the high participation of the scientific community in general, and
the exceptional research project presentations.
We also thank the judges that had the very difficult task of
awarding the prizes.
A total of 56
research abstracts were presented, with the participation of
faculty, students, and residents of our School and affiliated
institutions. 27 of
these were oral presentations, while there were 29 posters to be
evaluated. Prizes were
awarded in these two types of presentations in three main
categories: Clinical,
Basic, and Behavioral/Public Health.
The variety of topics allowed for the interaction of
participants in the different institutional programs.
This activity is
intended to be an annual one to allow our students and faculty to
present their scientific productions to the community.
