The Ponce School of Medicine will be hosting its 9th Annual Research
Conference on Saturday, June 1st, 2013. The purpose of this conference
is to increase local and Island-wide awareness of the research that is
being undertaken at our Institution in the Medicine, Basic Sciences,
Behavioral Sciences, and Public Health Programs and to stimulate further
research endeavors, particularly in the Clinical Sciences. Oral and
poster presentations will take place throughout the day and will be
divided into four scientific categories: Clinical, Basic, Behavioral,
and Public Health. Prizes will be awarded to the best presentations in
each category.
Investigators (students and researchers) wishing to present their
research must submit an abstract by Friday, May 3, 2013. Abstracts
must be submitted on the form provided and must be in Times New Roman
12-point font, 1.5 spaced, and within a 350-word limit. Please indicate
the category of your abstract and whether you would prefer an oral or
poster presentation. Abstracts may be written in either English or
Spanish and should conform to the following order:
1. Purpose of investigation
2. Methods used
3. Results obtained
4. Conclusions
To ensure the quality of the presentations, abstracts will be evaluated
for merit prior to acceptance.
