Extinction conference: "The Neural Mechanisms of Behavior Change"  

The first international conference on extinction was a success! We had speakers and trainees from 18 countries in Ponce.  Scientific activities (talks, panel discussions, moonlight debates) and social activities (tours, Castillo Cultural event, Ponce Carnival) were enjoyed by all.

 

 

 

 

Brain awareness week: Educational activities for local schools.

Ivan Vidal, a graduate student from the Quirk lab, demonstrating to CROEM high school students a video that had a rat with an electrode in its brain.  This demonstrated students how the single-unit recording technique is performed.
