Program Mission
|
|
The mission of the Master
in Public Health (MPH) is to prepare public health professionals
at the graduate level with a multidisciplinary background,
through teaching, research and community service. This
preparation will facilitate the development of the necessary
competencies for promoting and protecting health and preventing
diseases in the community, taking into account the individual
and collective rights and the social and cultural differences
that distinguish human beings.
This mission is consonant with the mission of the Ponce School
of Medicine: to provide high quality education, research and
health services in medicine, biological sciences, clinical
psychology, public health, and other healthcare fields, to the
Puerto Rican population, through an innovative health sciences
curriculum, while preparing students to be ethical practitioners
and scientists.
