He teaches a component of the FCM-721 course, which includes Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Preventive Medicine. Dr. Iriarte has been recipient of Humanism in Medicine Awards given by the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey and the AAMC. He joined the department in 1985 after completing the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Faculty Development Fellowship at the University of Iowa. He has served in positions such as coordinator of the Medical Ethics Course, Residency Training Director, Director of Admissions, and Associate Dean for Student Affairs at Ponce School of Medicine and Health Sciences .
