2nd RCMI Annual Symposium in Health Disparities

On behalf of the RCMI Organizing Committee of 2023, it is our honor to present our 2nd RCMI Symposium on Health Disparities here in Ponce, Puerto Rico.  For over 36 years, the RCMI Program has contributed significantly to PHSU’s human and physical research infrastructure development by recruiting top-notch talent and acquiring state-of-the-art facilities, equipment, and other resources required to pursue competitive basic, behavioral, and clinical research. We aim to highlight the recent discoveries and the latest research developments regarding health disparities and provide a broad understanding for our first symposium.  This year we will focus our panel discussions on the topics of Gender Minorities, Health Disparities in Elderly Communities and Prostate Cancer. This is highly relevant in view of the fact that pronounced health disparities in these diseases occur in our Puerto Rican population.
