The Epidemiological Intelligence Network (EpI-Net) is a collaborative research project with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and its initiative for Rapid Acceleration in Diagnosis in underserved populations (RADxUP). EpI-Net is part of a collaborative of more than 70 projects located throughout the United States focused on understanding the reasons and reducing the uneven impact of COVID-19 on those most affected by the pandemic.
What we do?
EpI-Net seeks to train community leaders to empower communities to face the COVID-19 situation. In addition, we offer free testing for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, and vaccination clinics that are brought directly to the communities that this emerging disease has most impacted. As a public health initiative, EpI-Net conducts educational activities for community leaders and members to increase their knowledge of health issues and inform the response to COVID-19 to strengthen and improve the health of our communities.
Goals and Objectives
EpI-Net seeks to increase the accessibility to detection tests for COVID-19 and increase the acceptance of prevention practices in epidemiologically vulnerable communities in Puerto Rico.
